Which parts of the iolite vaporiser are subject to wear and tear?
The mesh in the herb chamber. The mesh in the heat pin chamber. The herb chamber and mouthpieces are all subject to wear and tear.
Can I also subsequently order individual parts?
Yes, spare parts can be ordered from our store. Or from the local stockist / online retailer you originally bought your iolite from.
I’ve broken my mouthpiece and part of it is left in the herb chamber, what can I do?
Please view & follow the instruction guide in our Troubleshooting section.
Can the vaporization goods burn in the iolite?
No, the iolite is set to a constant 190°C / 374°F so will never reach combustion temperature.
Is there a possibility of inhaling butane or exhaust gasses?
No, the iolite is constructed in such a way that the butane / exhaust path is physically separated from the vapour path.
Can I use the iolite in its pouch?
No, as the catalytic process requires oxygen. It is a possibility that the process over an extended period, may use up all the oxygen in the pouch. If this should occur, the process will stop and the unit will vent butane from the exhaust port.
How do I refill the iolite and what fuel do I use?
The iolite uses butane gas. For filling instructions and a list of recommended brands see the Troubleshooting section.
What warranty is offered?
We offer a 2 year warranty on manufacturing defects.
What procedure do I follow to claim a Warranty?
Return details are as follows (Please note: there are no zip/postal codes for Irish addresses),
Warranty Dept,
Oglesby & Butler Ltd,
O’Brien Rd,
Carlow,
Ireland
Please just send the main body of the device, there is no need to send the box as long as the iolite is in a protective envelope. We will send you a new herb chamber and short mouthpiece in the return package. Please make sure the unit is thoroughly cleaned i.e. no residue left around the heating pin. Cleaning with a cotton bud and medical alcohol is sufficient. Also, could you please include your return contact details, a copy of your receipt and a brief description of the fault in the package. We would recommend that you send the iolite by registered post, as a courier service is not cost effective. We return all iolites by registered post.
My iolite won’t ignite, what do I do?
Please follow the venting instructions in the Troubleshooting section. Make sure you are using a recommended butane brand. If the unit still fails, please send it in for a warranty repair.
I’m above 1600m, my iolite won’t start, what’s wrong?
Butane will always have problems igniting at altitudes above 1600m regardless whether it’s a gas lighter, gas curling tongs, gas soldering iron or even our vaporiser. Also bear in mind the current local barometric pressure as this may have a compound affect at high altitude. If you have a simple gas lighter and that works then the vaporiser should in theory work but is not guaranteed.
